The sun was shining and since he did not know how long it would last he had dressed in a green sweater and dark jeans and headed out of the dungeons and up to the main level. There was a fair amount of people out and about but he paid them no attention and they did they same to him.  While it wasn't fair to say he wasn't a people person, he often had an air about him that kept people at a distance.

It worked for him, it kept him from having to make small talk or worse yet hexing them away.  Crossing the courtyard he smiled when he saw that his favorite bench tucked away back in the corner was unoccupied.  With an ungentleman like thump he plonked down sideways leaning up against the building and propping his feet up on the bench.

Letting out a deep breath he cast a wary look around looking for someone of interest and was not surprised to find not a soul.  With a flick of his wrist he pulled out his wand waving it at some leaves causing them to float about and change color. He did this for a few moments before he heard the crunch of shoes against the leaves to his right. "Come to disturb the silence have you?" he said without even looking up to see who it was.

It looked like a nice enough day outside and it had been quite a while since the hufflepuff prefect had taken to the outer parts of the castle unless for quidditch purposes. The blonde might even get some studying done if she were up to it and found a good place to work.

It seemed unlikely for that since so many of the students had already beaten her outside and taken all the good places. Holly avoided her normal group of friends who had taken giggling to an all new level thanks to the announcement of the Halloween Costume Ball.

That reminded her that her time would best be served hunting down the other female prefects to work on decorations and whatever else they had been charged with doing. Holly wasn't excited about any of it and looked forward to the first quidditch match of the season much more.

During this time of thought is when she heard someone speak to her and she halted to a complete stop to see she had stumbled upon a slytherin. A Lestrange slytherin. Holly groaned at her misfortune and eyed the boy warily. Most of her house regarded the slytherins with caution and those with death eaters in the family more so. "More like looking for a place to study while the sun is still out." Curse her honesty! Slinging her book bag onto the bench where he rested his feet Holly gave him a pointed look not interested in taking shite from slytherins that day. "I assume you don't mind me using this bench since you're not doing much with it."

When he finally looked up he groaned inwardly, of all the people it had to be, it just had to be a Hufflepuff.  There was no one he found more annoying and it was the house that most often was on the receiving end of his torture. Reaching up he ran his head over his head giving her look of obvious annoyance.  Not bothering to move his feet even after she thumped her bag at the end he raised a brow,

"You do know thats what libraries are for. I've never stepped a foot inside there but even I know its purpose."

Crossing his arms over his chest he looked her up and down waiting for another snarky comment to pass over her lips. "I do mind, as you can see I am enjoying the quiet and sunshine and don't need a puffle ruining the moment. So I am sure there is another place you could find to do your studies."

Grinning he pulled his wand back out and went back to enchanting the leaves and making them float about.  When she still stood there staring down at him he flicked his wrist making the leaves float up around her head.

The witch rolled her eyes. "Well imagine that." She replied with sarcasm. Why did slytherins have to be so difficult about things? They were all people. It didn't make sense to Holly to be so rude about things all the time like this. It seemed like a lot of work just to stay angry and mean all the time but to each their own.

The blonde may be wary of the older boy but that didn't mean she was too afraid to bite back. Mimicking his posture she crossed her own arms over her chest. "There probably is another place, but I like here best because I too want to enjoy the sunshine. Now move your feet Lestrange." Holly demanded. She making her stand because she wasn't going to let the pompous prick think he owned the place just because of some preconceived idea that he was better than her and everyone else.

A wary look again overtook her face when he actually grinned and took up his wand. She was a second away from going for her own until the leaves began floating around her blonde head. She snorted and swatted at them. "Cute. Very cute Lestrange. Now my turn." Holly didn't need her wand. She used her hands to shove his feet off the bench and sit down crossing her legs under her.

Another perfectly time ruined because of someone else inability to leave him alone. Scowling he reached up and adjusted the bottom of his sweater as he shifted around.  It was becoming increasingly obvious he needed to start being a little bit meaner to keep people at a distance.  After all just who did they think they were.

"Well if there is another place then you should go to it." Lifting his arm he pointed to a half open bench on the other side of the courtyard. "See just over there is a perfect place just for someone like you."  Obviously the younger girl did not know how to take a hint though and there were too many witnesses around to do what he really wanted to do to her.

The little witch really had some nerve and he actually growled at her when she lifted her hands to shove his feet off of the bench.  "Well thats about rude Jacobs. Obviously your parents didn't teach you how to play well with others," he said with a dark scowl.

"And clearly neither did yours." She snipped back barely biting her tongue in time to keep the rest of her comment from passing her lips. Holly had been about to say how she doubted death eaters had much manners to teach their children anyway but she kept the remark to herself. No point in lowering herself to his level.

Her gaze didn't even follow where he suggested as she pulled a book from her bag. "I'm good here thanks." She replied almost cheekily and made herself comfortable. Or as comfortable as was possible with Leyton Lestrange sharing the bench with her. Holly wouldn't lie to herself. Having the older boy so near her made her a bit nervous especially when he was scowling so darkly like that.

"You know you could almost be nice looking if you weren't making a face like there was dragon dung under your nose all the time." The blonde looked almost shocked that she had said it herself but quickly let her curls hide her face from him. She didn't know what had come over her to say such a thing to him but she certainly hoped she lived to tell the tale while she cracked the book open and pretended to read the same sentence over and over again.
