Eva was usually spending her time in the Library, reading over the same books she had read a million times before. But to her, it is actually not boring. It is a getaway from life. A way to stop thinking, and just live the fairytale that didn't, and would never exist. But, that was exactly what the books did. Made you dream and filled your head with hope and love and romance.
It sometimes made her sick.

But she was bored of the very same old routine. As much as she was tempted to read another book, she decided to just go around and wander, not knowing what she might find.
After all, it had been quite a while since she was a part of an adventure. She had actually missed getting in trouble.

The least place someone would find her be, was the Dungeons, and that is why she decided to be an Eagle among the snakes. Smiling, she hid her face in her brown curls as she made her way through the Dungeons, not knowing where this would lead.

Crazy things had been going on through the castle so far this year. Minerva was especially aware of the… altercations going on lately in the dungeons. It seemed Potter was making a habit of wandering down there, along with that trouble-seeking Head Boy, who always had some sort of excuse and usually had a way of getting into the basement corridors close enough to his house before she could catch him and give him a good tongue lashing.

Who knew who else had taken to wandering those cold, snake-filled halls?

Since Severus seemed incapable of keeping the territory strictly to the snakes, she’d taken it upon herself to do a special patrol down there any time she wasn’t on duty elsewhere. This lead her to finding a few students dawdling suspiciously so far, all at differing times of the day and for no good reason. She strictly told each of the students off for loitering where they didn’t belong and sent them on their ways. Why wouldn’t they stick to their common rooms or the study areas? Or, there was a thought, go outside.

She shook her head as she stalked down the hall in her emerald teaching robes. Go outside indeed. These children were so bloody spoiled. If the weather wasn’t just right most of them wouldn’t even consider going outdoors. Bloody brats. She narrowed her eyes as she noticed a familiar girl wandering further up in the dungeon corridor.

“Faye!” she snapped, actually snapping her finger in the girl’s face as she approached. “Just what do you think you are doing down here? Do you not have enough trouble with that ridiculous brother of yours that you feel the need to so foolishly press your luck?!” She shot a harsh glare at the Ravenclaw female, feeling angry at the girl for not thinking. “Do you want to be in the hospital wing for a week again? Honestly! You are a Ravenclaw? I would think you a complete idiot rather than an intelligent bird. There is only so much people can do to protect you when you are so very… idiotic!”

Minerva stared down at the student, expecting some sort of explanation for her wandering. If there wasn’t one, Minerva would be having a serious conversation with Fillius concerning the girl’s utter daftness. They couldn’t protect the girl from her own stupidity after all.

Evangeline hadn't meant to cause any trouble by coming down here. She wanted to have a walk, relax and think. She was bored of reading over the same books for over ten times each, and surprisingly, the Library has been a crowded place these past few days, which made Evangeline curious.

Though she had no time to think furthermore before she heard a familiar voice shouting her name down the corridor. Closing her eyes, she sighed and faced the source of the voice with an empty look. She still couldn't understand how trouble always found her. And,she wasn't even trying!

"Professor, I can explain! I had no intention of getting in another fight with my dear brother, or spend another week in the Hospital Wing. I was simply having a walk!" the girl defended herself, hoping that this wouldn't lead to a detention.

"And I actually doubt you are in position to judge the Sorting Hat's choices. Its decision was made a while ago, and I've proven that I deserve to be in this House."
Evangeline did not want to be rude. She was just stating the obvious.

The girl tried to explain herself to Minerva, but she wasn’t having it. Oh, no. This Ravenclaw caused enough trouble with all the things her Slytherin brother did, yet she insisted on wandering through the dungeons where she had no reason to be at all? That was not going to fly with the Gryffindor Head of House. She looked at the fifth year with coldness in her eyes. No one had ever claimed that Minerva was a sweet or overly caring woman, at least in the way of actually showing that she cared in some way.

“No, Miss Faye, I suppose I cannot speak for the sorting hat. Perhaps you are supposed to be a Ravenclaw, but you are surely not proving to be one of their brightest members, now are you?” Her tone was quite critical as she looked the girl up and down. “That explanation is unacceptable! Your intentions do not matter at all, because you know that simply wandering in Slytherin territory is like asking your brother and his band of fools to attack you. It is foolish, and you should watch your tongue, Miss Faye.”

Minerva did not appreciate the girl’s attitude regarding being called out as a fool. “I am sure many members of your own house would agree that you are pressing your luck with many of the things you do, yet you expect to find protection within these walls. You need to figure out how where your priorities lie, Miss Faye, or you are going to find yourself in a very bad place.”

With that, the professor turned on her heel and began walking toward the higher levels of the castle. “Follow me, Miss Faye. I am not letting you remain in these hallways with your history. I will escort you to Professor Flitwick’s office and we will discuss a… punishment for your wandering.”

Evangeline could't understand what she was being accused of. Just because her brother was causing trouble all over the school, including her as one of his victims, did not mean she was going to follow in line. But the Gryffindor Head of House was having none of it.
She believed that Eva was about to cause trouble by coming down here, and there was no way of changing her thoughts about it.
The girl did try, and it only led to making the Professor sound like a fool, just because she started judging her. Not even she had the power to defy the Sorting Hat, and she knew it, so why was she even trying to persuade Evangeline into believing she wasn't smart for a Ravenclaw?

“No, Miss Faye, I suppose I cannot speak for the sorting hat. Perhaps you are supposed to be a Ravenclaw, but you are surely not proving to be one of their brightest members, now are you?”

The girl was trying hard not to grow at the Professor. Just because they had some sort of power over the students didn't make Eva any less able to hex her. And she would, if she was completely insane. Thankfully, she still could stop herself from doing something she would regret later. But she did hate McGonagall more and more with every passing second.

“That explanation is unacceptable! Your intentions do not matter at all, because you know that simply wandering in Slytherin territory is like asking your brother and his band of fools to attack you. It is foolish, and you should watch your tongue, Miss Faye.”

You should watch your tongue, the girl thought but did not dare to speak. She had never meant to do such a thing. The Professor was making this sound as if Eva was trying to find a way to end up in the Hospital Wing, badly bruised, as if she didn't have much to do already.
But of course, Eva, being the student here could not say anything, because our precious Head of House here, could easily expel here, something that the girl wasn't really looking forward to.

“I am sure many members of your own house would agree that you are pressing your luck with many of the things you do, yet you expect to find protection within these walls. You need to figure out how where your priorities lie, Miss Faye, or you are going to find yourself in a very bad place.”

"Is that a threat.... Professor?"
Evangeline was being stupid by trying to be tough here, but she couldn't help it. This was going too far. It wasn't simply advising anymore. McGonagall was being rude to her, and Eva wasn't going to stand still and listen to whatever accusations the Professor came up with.
She didn't know why she was doing that, since Professors were supposed to help, but she didn't care much at the moment.

“Follow me, Miss Faye. I am not letting you remain in these hallways with your history. I will escort you to Professor Flitwick’s office and we will discuss a… punishment for your wandering.”

The girl crossed her arms stubbornly. This was unfair, but what could she do? Risk getting expelled? McGonagall was a powerful woman, and Eva was not ready to risk everything. Not yet, at least.
"Fine, but I have done nothing wrong!"
