It was a clear day, a bit overcast, but mostly clear. The breeze was light, nothing too strong, but something to take into consideration nonetheless. Holly strolled purposefully onto the Quidditch pitch decked out in her Hufflepuff yellow and black Quidditch robes and her broom in hand.

She came to a half before all those gathered there to try out for the team and she smiled brightly at them all, obviously happy with the turnout. Though she was hopeful that somewhere in their midst was the talent they needed to combat the other houses.

Her look was serious even if friendly as she addressed them in a strong clear voice. "You all know why you're here so I won't waste any time. Form groups in the positions you are here to try out for and you will take your turns one at a time. I will observe for the most part. Now go."

Luca came to the Quidditch pitch wondering if he would see his sister there. They had talked about it together for years but neither had ever tried out before. Holly had talked him into giving it a go and now here he was ready to hit them with his best shot. And he meant that quite literally for Luca was trying out for the beater position.

He saw his sister and came up beside her. "Nervous?" he said with a smile. She nodded and he gave her a half hug. "You're the best chaser I know" he added then went quiet as Holly spoke out the instructions. He made his way through the crowd of eager beavers and found some people willing to try out for the Beater position and waited for his turn to show what he could do. He hoped like hell he wouldn't have to practice Beater against his sister who was trying for Chaser; he hated hurting her but after all it would be tryouts...

Alice Hartstone fidgeted with her robes, her hands and basically anything she could while making her way down to the Quidditch pitch. The weather wasn't horrible but she would need to take its winds into account for flying as the higher you went the stronger they would be. She noticed her brother amongst the crowd and called out to him waving a little. He always set her at ease. "Thanks Lukey" she said with a grin in a teasing kind of way. He simply laughed letting go of her as they listened to Holly the Quidditch captain speak out her demands.

She managed to find a group of chasers or at least a group of people wanting to be chasers, some seemed to sure of themselves, some extremely nervous, she was thankful she fell in the middle section of a little nervous yet knowledgeable of tactics. She waited with her group to find out when she could begin to try out. Fingers crossed tight hoping her brother would not be the beater she would face, he had a strong arm that was for sure!

The normally bubbly blonde narrowed her eyes as she looked from the parchment if sign ups and who had shown up. They seemed to be missing a head boy. Holly glared for no better reason than to glare and decided she wouldn't be waiting around for the bloody boy, and if or when he showed up searching for a place on her team he would be on the receiving end of her heated glare. She had stated a specific time and she didn't appreciate him wasting her time. Just because he was head boy meant very little on the pitch.

For the time being Holly cleared her throat, gathering everyone's attention who had shown up, and starting the tryouts. "Alright everyone!" She called out loudly enough that they would all hear. "Chasers first. Then beaters. Then keepers. Let's see what you've got." With that, she looked expectantly towards the chasers group, waiting for them to take to the air and show her what they had to offer.

Tobias made a point of starting to get ready when he was supposed to be at the pitch, ensuring that he would be fairly late and all eyes would be on him when he entered. It also ensured that they new captain's attention would be on him during the tryout. That was the way he liked it when he was in the air. He did better as the center of attention.

"Hello, all," he said cheerfully, walking up to the group with his broom over his shoulder just as the girl he knew mostly as a Prefect told his group to hit the skies. This put him at a distinct disadvantage. By the time he got his broom ready and kicked off the other chasers were already in the air. Still, as he shot off towards them he let out a war whoop and did a loop in the air. His two best skills as a chaser were very good passing skills and dramatic flair, and if he couldn't show off the first yet, he could at least feature the latter. Plus, then everyone would know how hard it was to hit him with a bludger if he was at all aware that it was coming his way. That could only help his chances.
