Family:
Bellatrix is a pureblood witch who was born to Cygnus Black the third and Druella Black. The Blacks are a very old, very prestigious pureblood family, with a long line in history, and well known for dabbling in things they shouldn't, such as the dark arts, and many other illegal things, like dark artifacts, and banned or illegal potions and potions ingredients. That's just to name a few.

She is the elder sister of Andromeda Tonks and Narcissa Malfoy, and cousin to Sirius and Regulus Black. Growing up, Bellatrix was quite close to her sisters, especially Andromeda, as the two were closer in age. While she had always secretly respected and admired Andromeda's courage to marry for love, she hated her sister and confidant for leaving her. Especially for a muggle. Bella's real extreme dislike of muggles began there, blaming Ted Tonks for taking her sister from her.

She is the blood aunt of Nymphadora Tonks and Draco Malfoy, and surrogate aunt to Caellum Chancellor, whom she knows to be the real Harry Potter. Nymphadora she has never met, nor cares to. As far as Bella is concerned, she wants nothing to do with the little halfbeast. Draco and Caellum she has always favored and spoiled above all other children she has ever had contact with, and Bella has never had a problem showing that, but often the two boys press their luck and disappoint her, and she has also never had an issue punishing them.

She is sister in law to Ted Tonks, who she would just as soon torture as talk to, and Lucius Malfoy, who she has a habit of constantly bickering with, driving Severus, who is often in their company, crazy.

Personal:
Bellatrix grew up in the rich, wealthy, and pureblood lifstyle those of the House of Black were accustomed to. So it's no real surprise that the woman is arrogant, prideful, and haughty, with a sense of entitlement and a selfish streak. She attended Hogwarts when it was time, and was sorted into Slytherin, much to the pride of her family. She was eventually supposed to marry Rodolphus Lestrange, an alliance that was expected of her and arranged between the two pureblood families, but Bellatrix showed no preference for him, and the original rise of the Dark Lord interrupted that arrangement, as Bellatrix joined his forces and he seemed to favor her above all else. Her family assumed, as did many, that the Dark Lord would take her as his own, but nothing ever came to pass.

When the Dark Lord rose to power the first time around, Bellatrix was among the first to join him. The Dark Lord took Bellatrix under his wing and trained her in the Dark Arts, which contributed to her incredible talent as an extreme duelist. Bellatrix fought for the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters during the first war, and remained loyal to the Dark Lord even after he 'fell'. Being one of the Dark Lord's closest confidantes and most favored follower, it was her mission to kidnap baby Harry back in the first war, 10 years ago, without anyone knowing. Never one to disappoint, Bellatrix succeeded in her mission, and is one of the very, very few who know not only of Caellum's true identity, but also of Neville's, as well as who Voldemort is/was, and who Eadric really is.

All in all, Bella is quite the force to be reckoned with, and a formidable witch, to say the least. She is by no means easily pleased, but she is also not heartless, and has found, after spending much time around the children, that she does indeed care for them. She spends time with her nephews, taking them under her wing much like the Dark Lord did her, and training them in theory, though, now that both are of Hogwarts age, she will start training them practically as well. She is well versed in various different branches of magic, and continues to extend her knowledge every day.

As a Death Eater, Bella is the highest ranking of the Dark Lord's followers, and is treated with the utmost respect. And if she isn't, her wand will do brutal damage to those that don't show her the proper respect she deserves. Though many have died and been tortured by her hand, Bella has never been caught or accused as being a Death Eater, allowing her reputation and that of her family's, to go untarnished.

To this day, the woman is as haughty, prideful, and arrogant as she was back in her own Hogwarts years, possibly even moreso. She has always and will always have a thirst for vengeance, a cruel streak a mile wide, and a short and explosive temper, so most people are wise enough to stay on her good side. Cunning, manipulative, and conniving, Bella is likely the most dangerous person next to the Dark Lord, and commands just as much attention on her own simply upon entering a room. It can always be said that if the Dark witch is in a room, you will know it.
