Connection [For Lissy] Empty
PostSubject: Connection [For Lissy]   Connection [For Lissy] Icon_minitimeFri Jun 20, 2014 5:10 pm

It had been a hell of a week yet again. Harry seemed to be stuck between a rock and a hard place with almost everything in his life. He had thrown things away with Skyler, thanks in part to the fact that he treated her like dragon dung. He had treated a lot of people like dragon dung lately, as his godsister had so kindly pointed out to him. This was followed yesterday by his actual break up with Skyler, and all of the devastating knowledge that went with it.

At least they were able to remain friends despite all that he had done to her, along with the things that she had done to him. Unfortunately, he had had no shoulder to lean on last night. Ron had been eaten by spiders. Hermione was still in the hospital wing recovering from the Halloween Ball, even if Harry felt that he could speak to her so soon after everything that had happened. It was one thing for Draco to report what had happened to her and how it wasn’t exactly her fault and quite another for Harry to actually forgive her. He had gone from those two automatic reactions, which had only caused him more pain, to looking for anyone he trusted. Gin, and the entire quidditch team, was nowhere to be found. He was avoiding the Russian because of the whole murder investigation thing, not that he would trust her opinion on matters of love and personality anyway. The same measure basically applied to Luna, who has busy counting dust particles and calling them some funny sounding name when he found her anyway. He tried his godsister, but found her in the library, asleep, and using her giant medicine book as a pillow.

That meant he had had a long and miserable night that ended up involving no sleep and him trying to write a letter to Sirius, something that he hadn’t done in weeks. That had only made things worse, to the point that he had almost stabbed a second year with his fork for talking too loud at lunch. Now his final class of the day, Defense, had just wrapped up with Snape giving him a long lecture about the glazed look in his eyes during his lecture about warding techniques that Harry had already mastered the previous summer anyway. He had ended up avoiding detention, but by the time he escaped, the only two people left in the class were the quiet identical ones, and they were babbling back and forth in French or something similar.

As Harry shoved all his things hurriedly into his bag, the one in blue turned and left and Harry slowly looked over the remaining sister. He knew very little of her, despite having had Herbology with her since he arrived at the castle and almost all of his classes with her this year. Still, she seemed like a nice enough girl, so maybe they could help each other. He certainly needed help of some kind. “So, do you only speak in French?” he asked with a smile. “I never remember hearing you talk that much before.”

Elisabeth's day had taken many unexpected twists and turns as the course of it went on. She had started the morning by waking up late, something she rarely did, and ended up transfiguring her pajamas into her school robes as she ran. Ironically, she did that on her way to her transfiguration class, managing to arrive just as McGonagall was shutting the doors.

The blonde's day took various twists and turns from her initial tardiness until she finally made it to defense against the dark arts, her final class of the day, and while it was dreaded because of Snape and, well, what really is there more to say than because of Snape? She was glad she shared the class with Annabelle, and they were able to have a chance to talk before having to go to the Hufflepuff basement and Ravenclaw tower, respectively.

After waiting for what had seemed like forever through one of Snape's more boring lectures (although which of his lectures weren't boring with the way he drawled on?) about warding techniques, most of the class had left, leaving the Hufflepuff and Annabelle alone with the exception of a few students. As always, the two spoke in French, discussing each others days, then Annabelle had to go and study, leaving the sixth year alone, or so she thought.

It seemed Elisabeth was wrong about her perceived solitude, as one Harry Potter approached her, and her being the awkward witch she is, immediately responded to his question in French, "Non, je ne parle pas seulement en français c'est seulement quand je parle à Annabelle." she replied automatically, then got all flustered, "I-I'm sorry that wasn't a very good example of me not only speaking in French all the time." she said, a blush shading her face as she realized her faux pas (no pun intended). "What I meant to say was, no, I don't only speak in French that's only when I'm talking to Annabelle. Well then and when I need to, of course." she explained, a nervous smile on her face. "I'm Elisabeth," she introduced herself, "I..already know who you are." she added quietly, glancing down at the ground slightly.

Harry couldn’t help but smirk a little at what he took to be the blonde telling him that she mostly certainly didn’t speak only French, except that she was doing so in French and arguing against herself pretty well. This was confirmed as she blushed and repeated the sentiment in English, which at least aided her argument a little bit by, you know, not being French anymore. Still, it had been a rough few days. He needed a little bit of amusement in his life too much to let it go easily.

“It’s a little bit cute when you blush like that, but there’s really no need to be embarrassed, Lisa…no Lissy is better.” He was rambling a little bit, as well as probably flirting a little bit more than he should be just after coming out of a relationship and realizing he didn’t really know what he wanted and that he was treating women badly while he went about figuring it out. That was an entire train of thought he didn’t need to think about, though. Not right now, and not without someone smarter than himself to guide him through it.

“Ah, you think you know who I am,” Harry said, the smirk returning as he decided to focus on what seemed the better side of this, the distraction from his life right now, instead of the other side, where he had to think about his mistakes even more. “I bet I know more about you than you do about me actually, and I honestly thought your name was Ellen and not Elisabeth until you introduced yourself just now.”

At that point, Snape shook his head and left the room, leaving the two teens to their own devices, probably so that he didn’t have to witness whatever happened next. Typical Snape and his assumption of the worst in Harry all the time. The raven haired teen shrugged and hopped up to sit on a desk, his legs dangling in front of his lazily.

“I’ll tell you what, we’ll make a game of it,” Harry said with the same smirk that meant either fun or trouble, depending on how you saw it. “Every time you get something right about me, I’ll tell you something about me that you definitely don’t know. And every time I get something right about you, you tell me something that I definitely don’t know about you. It’ll be fun.” After he had made this entire plan, he realized it would probably work better if she actually liked it enough to play along. “Are you in?”

Elisabeth smiled nervously as she felt her face get warmer than it had been before, signalling that her blush had deepened after Harry had said it was a little cute, along with the fact that she didn't really need to blush, "Thank you." was all the Hufflepuff could think to say in response, she wasn't really sure what else to say, she rarely talked to anyone to begin with, so she supposed that limited her conversation topics a bit.

The sixth year ran her hand through her hair trying not to focus on the fact that she was blushing, and perhaps the distraction would at least lighten it, "I had actually meant that I knew what your name was, but you're right, I don't really know you." she admitted. The witch tilted her head to the side curiously, "How could you know more about me if you thought my name was Ellen?" she inquired.

Hearing Snape's receding footsteps, Elisabeth turned her head in his directions, and breathed a sigh of relief when he was out the door. Having a professor that didn't like either of the teens was making it even more awkward for the girl, and she was awkward to begin with. She followed Harry's lead and propped herself up on top of the desk across from the Gryffindor as she refocused her blue eyes on him, her legs dangling from the desk, not even close to touching the floor.

Elisabeth listened as Harry explained the game he had made up, it seemed like a good idea, and it'd give them something to talk about which would hopefully make it less awkward, as well as help the Hufflepuff relax. The blonde smiled, and nodded when Harry asked whether or not she was okay with the idea, "Would you start so I know exactly how to play?" she asked quietly, a small smile on her face.

Apparently Harry was yet again jumping the gun with people, but he wasn’t sure if he actually felt as bad about it as he should. Especially since she had settled in a little bit and seemed to be game to join him, even if she did want him to go first before she was sure was got the game. He supposed that was the least he could do, since it was his idea and all.

“I think I know far more important things than your name,” Harry said with a grin. “That’s exactly the point that I was trying to make.” He then paused, trying to decide how to play this. He could go with something easy and build up from there, but how impressive was the fact that she had a twin, or that she had recently joined her Houses’ quidditch team? That only showed that he was capable of paying a tiny amount of attention, and she would know the same sort of stuff about him, even if she hadn’t really been paying attention. It was one of the perils of being famous.

No, he would have to go straight to something deeper, that would show what he actually intended the game to be, and if he was only guessing after the first two or three rounds, well he would just have to be convincing enough that she couldn’t tell. That was a problem for a little bit later, though. For now he needed to get the game going.

“Okay, for example, I know that you are a musician, even though music classes aren’t offered here, and even if they were I would not be taking them. So now you have to tell me something about you that I don’t know. Then you have to say something like that about me. Something real about who I am, you know?”

So that explained the game pretty well. Now the fun should begin.
